Hollis Hills Queens - Entrance Repairs
Currently under construction, the initial entry investigation revealed significantly deteriorated/dislodging precast ornaments above the building's main entrance. During review of investigatory probes, we found that the precast segment's supports had been damaged by moisture infiltration and were no longer able to hold the heavy cladding segments.
The repair program includes the installation of shoring and protective systems to keep the main entrance active during construction, removal of the existing precast lintels and the installation of a new Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete cladding system (GFRC) with an integrated gutter system. The existing spandrel beam will be reinforced and waterproofed prior to the installation of the new cladding system.
New textured protective coatings will be applied along the perimeter entrance ornaments to match the existing design.
