It’sWhile no longer a hotel chain, it’s interesting to note how the building’s use has evolved over time, from a commercial hotel to a shelter for homeless families managed by a nonprofit organization. This transformation reflects changes in community needs and societal responses over the years.

During our recent inspection, we uncovered several deficiencies that demand immediate attention to uphold safety standards and protect the longevity of the building. These include corroded and unstable railings along the roof perimeter, cracked coping segments at the boiler flue, eroded and cracked mortar, and spalled concrete at various locations throughout the facade and columns. Some of these issues have been classified as SWARMP (Safe with a Repair and Maintenance Program) while others are deemed UNSAFE, highlighting the urgency of remediation.
To address these deficiencies effectively, we rely on top-tier materials that guarantee durability and long-lasting protection. For the priming of steel surfaces, we recommend Super Spec HP Alkyd Metal Primer P06 by Benjamin Moore . Additionally, for elastomeric coating on balcony surfaces, we recommend SIKAGUARD 515 Elastomeric, accompanied by SIKAGUARD 552W Primer or SIKALATEX R by Sika USA.
