PROJECTS > NEW DESIGNS

82nd Street, New York NY (In Progress)

For this project, M+S was hired for the replacement of stoops. M+S used laser scanning technology to survey and 3D model the site.
A combination of Steel Frame and GFRC (Glass-Fiber Reinforced Concrete) panels was chosen as the best solution to provide a light-weight design that brings back some of the historical character of the building. The railing design also refers to the historical context of the building by combining the few remaining elements still visible from the façade such as balconies and cornice. To address the client’s concern about security, M+S is reviewing solutions involving the height of the railing.

This is an on-going project.
