Willis Retaining Wall - ​Williston Park, NY

The M+S team performed a survey and review of the Retaining Wall at Willis Avenue. The 360’ long
concrete wall presents considerable leans and surface deterioration. Our team used a 3D Leica Laser
Scanner to survey and capture highly accurate conditions at the leaning segments as well as cracks and
other deficiencies. This method allows us to generate precise sectional information to better evaluate each
project.
In this case, the use of the 3D scanner was crucial in determining and measuring the angle of inclination
and identifying possible causes. Our team recommended extending the existing reinforcement an additional
90’ to address the findings. This project is still in progress.
